Taiwan: Day 7 & 8

06/06/12
Day 7; pretty good day. Got to eat hot pot buffet and they had Haagen Dazs ice cream too! It was a very filling lunch.

With our awesome tour guide: Tommy

At the "Love River"
06/07/12
Day 8 was our last day in Taiwan before flying back to Hong Kong. We didn't do anything really except sleep in and chill in our hotel rooms until it was time to leave for the airport.
 Fun at the airport
You can get hello kitty plane tickets here :D
Yummy lemon tea =] right before boarding time

Taiwan: Day 5 & 6

06/04/12
Day 5 was our amusement park day! One of the more fun days I guess.

Had lunch in the building behind us. Then went off to have fun.
At the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village
Watched a One Piece Mini Movie in 3D Japanese but with Chinese subs. Couldn't understand the content but kind of understood the story line and what was happening. Pretty good 3D effects too.
Then we rode this train that took us around the park. It was super slow...
Inside the Aladdin Pavilion, we rode the Pirate Ship (like the Pharaoh's Fury) , Venetian Carousel (Merry-go-round), Jurassic Cruise (slow boat ride) and the Space Mountain (fast roller coaster ride in the dark).

Then we went outside to ride the Gold Mine Adventure (a fun but not too extreme water ride). Got a bit wet from it but dried off quickly before riding the cable cart to the Naruwan Theatre for a water show. Got sprinkled with water a bit. People in the front got really soaked though.
Later on we went on a little boat cruise
Went to another temple. I got ice-cream!
For dinner, we went to this restaurant designed to look like streets of the old days. Pretty unique diner.
After dinner we did some more shopping. It was really hot and humid.

06/05/12
Day 6 wasn't a whole lot either. Went to see some historical sites & scenery.
Actually I don't really remember what we did because I don't have much pictures.

50th State Fair 2012: Last Day

06/24/12
Yay, so glad I made it in time for the carnival before it ended. I stayed from 4-10:45pm with Isaac. And around 6:30 bumped into Jess M and Andrew! So we rode some rides together and Isaac won me stuff animals :D He got me 2 little dogs, a banana and an elephant.
I wasn't going to ride much rides but figured it'd be a lot more worth it to just get a wristband, so we did.
We rode 10 rides that would've been equivalent up to $43/person when our wristband was only $25/person. Plus, we got an extra ride because this worker forgot to rip a coupon stub off our wristband, but we chose to keep that one instead of using it up on another ride.

Rides I rode (in order):
Techno Power
Cliff Hanger
Music Express
Rave
Bumper Cars
Pharaoh's Fury
Century Wheel (Ferris Wheel)
Wave Swinger
Tilt-A-Whirl
Music Express (again)

Since I've been back

06/22/12
Had a lunch date at Curry House with Jess M Jess O Kelly & Kris :)
Followed by milk tea at Coffee or Tea and then adventured to Ala Moana.
Yay for colorful flip flops! I got the brown pair and I'm loving them^^

06/25/12
Tennis play date! I didn't expect there to be so much people. The whole thing was planned pretty late too.
I tried to get a picture of everyone. And Happy Birthday Reynold!

I know you love these candid pics Reynold x]

Taiwan: Day 4

06/03/12
Day 4 was the long 7 hour road trip with karaoke and nap time. Well, our tour guide's singing actually woke me up from my little nap, but it was fun.

During the road trip, I took these pictures when we were by the ocean. It reminded me a lot of Hawaii; the blue sea and sky & mountains of greenery. We were officially far off into the countryside.
At one of our bathroom stops, there was a small fruit market that also made fruit shakes.
This here delicious thing is a mango fruit shake with diced mango and some kind of berries just below the surface, topped with a scoop of mango ice cream and sprinkled with frosted cereal flakes & rainbow sprinkles. They even added in a cream filled cookie straw.
Makes my mouth water every time I look at it ^_________^
Bus on the outside, bathroom on the inside.
Hard to see in the picture, but there is light shining out from the clouds above Buddha.
I thought it was pretty cool.
And another group picture!
Today must've been the day where I took the most individual pictures. I don't know what got into me it. Maybe because of being bored from the long bus ride or maybe because of the good mood after being able to sing karaoke or both.

Taiwan: Day 2 & 3

06/01/12 Day 2
Day 2 wasn't much, so I'll combine day 2 & 3 into one post.
Inside the building was just a museum with artifacts
Interesting looking trashcan huh?
 .

In front of Taipei 101
Big place but boring because all the stores were expensive brand names like Gucci, Chanel, LV, etc.
We never went up to the top either; too expensive and lines were crazy. There isn't much sightseeing to do in these places when all you can see is vog

06/02/12 Day 3
Yummy sticky rice in stuffed in bamboo shoots =]
Mr. Panda gets his own seat too (well, along with my bags)
Yes, everyone had to wear helmets; they were for safety purposes going inside the cave
the rocks here were a tourist attraction because the mountains looked like cheese; notice the holes. And when it rains super hard, rain water pours out from the mountain holes.
Our hotel for the 3rd night; same hotel as the last one, but different location.
With every hotel we stay at, we always explore the facilities. We found the pool to be outdoors, but it was raining so could not swim. On one of the recreational floors, we found the gym and played around. We also found a kids playroom and it was empty atm xD
I don't know what those toy characters are, but they're really popular in Taiwan; see them around a lot as cell phone charms and in advertisements too.

Pretty fun day, despite the rainy weather.
