Mission Accomplished: Driver's License

Woke up 6am; morning showers feel good. Especially since I kept tossing and turning around so much last night that I woke up a bit sweaty...? Every time I closed my eyes last night I thought about the road test that I would have in the morning.
I also met a new friend today because she was also taking her road test, but for the second time. She doesn't have an English name and has only moved to Hawaii for a year or less from China; a freshman at KCC. So we both passed and got our driving licenses together. I hope I see her again in the future!
I was second after my new chinese friend, and I was pretty nervous when I first got in the car, but then wasn't so nervous after I started driving. The lady that graded me got pretty mad at me for running through potholes; and I guess I was too nervous to even realize that I was.
My number one advice to road test takers: don't giggle when you're criticized, even though you didn't mean to make it sound like you thought it was funny, because she sure took my giggle seriously when I tried to lighten up the mood.
"I don't think it was funny" she said to me in a stern voice that sent chills up my spine.
That just ruined my whole road test experience. Thank goodness I don't have to go through it again because I passed!! (but just barely xD)
I think I got marked down for abrupt braking and poor judgement at intersections, in which I don't remember well on exactly how I messed up, but what matters is I passed on my first try at Dillingham!

So I hope no one here feels offended that I didn't share the news that my road test was today. I didn't really tell much people besides my parents and a couple others because I didn't want so much pressure.

Having an official Driver's License in my wallet makes me feel good :)

Not a very good weekend

So.. how was everyone's weekend? I bet it was good; it must have been better than mines at least.
I didn't even have a birthday cake :[
I started getting sick on Friday, been sick all weekend, and will likely be sick for the rest of this week.
I went to the doctors today though and they told me I have strep throat. sigh.....

I can't even go help out with DECA CTSO anymore because I don't want to spread my germs to anyone. My once in a year chance to go; more bummed than not having a bday cake.

But, I did get to go out last night to enjoy my weekend, even though it was only for 4 hours. Isaac picked me up for dinner at McCully Center's Pho Restaurant and movie at Ward Theaters'. We saw Titanic! but no, seriously we did; it was in a movie called "This Means War." They even played the titanic theme during that scene. Anyways xD overall I really liked the movie because 1) i love comedy romance and it really did make me laugh a lot & 2) from watching the movie trailer, I was surprised that the actual movie was better than what I expected. So, I'm glad I picked out a good movie; it made my night.

Stressful Week

This week has been the most stressful week college I've ever had (so far). Only now do I feel like there's some time to relax. I've had 3 quizzes and one midterm in the past 3 days. I was really disappointed in myself for having done so much unnecessary cramming. Cramming can always be prevented with good time management and I should've known better than to be so dependent on others. If I had to give myself a progress report, I would say i'm really proud of how I did on all my quizzes, but quite poorly on my midterm; I know I could've done better but now I'm just glad it's all over. Now I just have to finish my persuasive essay outline by tonight at 9pm and then my week will be pretty much complete :]
And how was my Valentines Day? It was horrible; gonna leave it at that. After this week is over, I'm going to make it up to myself by doing something I would've done on an actual Valentines Day.
I know some people think I may be scary when I'm angry, and believe me, I think I am. But like what I said in my last post, anger doesn't like to be my friend, and I don't like to be friends with anger either. Don't you think being angry is hard? And being filled with hatred all the time about something is even harder! It just makes you unhappy all the time; life is such a waste if you're always frowning about this, feeling unhappy about that, don't you think? Learn to let to let things go, because the faster you can do that, the better you'll feel about yourself.

Hehe, well Religion 150 is about to start. Bye!

Bridesmaid Dress Hunting

Woke up to Vivian's call about meeting up for bridesmaid dress shopping; good wake-up call xD no sarcasm in that. I got there just on time at 10:30am but ended up waiting an hour for Vivian & Janell to arrive. A hobo tried talking to me while I was waiting, but I couldn't hear what he said with my earphones on, so I walked away pretending that I didn't see him.
Honestly, I was getting pretty upset about waiting for an hour, but anger can't stay with me because we're not friends (personification??). Well, after they arrived, we started looking for dresses according to the specified plum color and a nice-simple style. Looking through all the dresses made me wish I still had a prom to go to. It was prom season too so the dress shops were pretty busy.
After looking into a few in downtown, we had lunch at Golden River (Vietnamese pho place) and they treated me to lunch to make-up for being late. Then we went to the Bridal Boutique; they had some nice dresses there and it was very convenient that all there dresses came in like, 18 different colors including the one we were looking for, but very pricey compared to the ones in Chinatown. I then go dropped off at UHM to study at Sinclair, where I met up with Isaac to study on the 1st floor. When I went up to the 3rd floor to meet up with my other friends, it got pretty cold for me since the 3rd floor has AC. I didn't want to stay too late either because I wasn't dressed warm enough to stay out at night, so I left at 5:30pm with Reynold. Thanks again for driving me home Reynold!

This is the one that I really liked from "Downtown Fashion", because it's simple, comes with detachable straps, and has pockets :)
(maybe just a little too simple though)

Here's another one that all 3 of us tried on; it has some small jewels near the top that makes it cute and different from the ordinary/plain bridesmaid dresses, but on the pricey side.

After classes today I went over to Jess Ms house with Tyler because I've never been there before :)
I'm so jealous of your bathroom and kitchen Jess; it's very nice. The location of your apartment is very convenient too!
After Jess was ready to go, we all caught the bus back to Salt Lake to watch the tennis team try-outs (while Tyler was an assistant coach there). But first, we went to Tyler's house for him to change and get ready as well.
Jess and I decided to eat a snack before leaving Tyler's so we boiled water for raamen. I also got to hear Tyler play piano for the very first time. He played one song/part of a song that I really liked, but I didn't know what it was called :(
So then around 3:15p we walked to the hs tennis courts and saw some people already there who were on cleaning duty. Not all the members came out today because they had other things to attend to, but majority of them did. There were 32 people trying out; more than the total member count last year (not including the ones that were dismissed from the team).
After sitting on the bleachers for a long time, it got a bit cold and boring so we asked Coach Kyle if we could run around the courts, but he said no. It's because he holds liability if we get hurt or something. When Coach Kyle wasn't looking, Jess and I sneaked off to do 90degree squats with some of the members. So much fun :)
During running exercises and duck walks, Jess and I cheered the members on; both the people we knew and didn't know.
Before try-outs ended, Kevin came as well and we chatted until I had to walk home to get ready for the dinner with them. After I went downstairs to get picked up to head over to Tyler's house, both Reynold and Kevin drove to my place... sorry for the miscommunication guys >.<"
From Tyler's place we went to Ala Moana for our dinner at Islanders; it was my first time eating there. It was so quiet at first on my half of the table, but eventually we got to chatting. The food didn't come until 9pm; I even got lightheaded from starvation, which is really bad :[ But I was fine after eating; didn't faint. I also got Jess O an early birthday gift; and luckily, it came in the mail just in time!
It was already ~10:30p by the time we finished! So Reynold dropped Jess O at the dorms and me at my grandmas's house :] Thanks again Reynold!

Ahh, I didn't do as good as I wish I did on today's religion quiz, but it was still a good score: 9/10
After Religion today, I went with Reynold for him to get breakfast.  I was about to go home when I remembered that I said I was going to hang out with Isaac. So I met up with him at Hamilton Library to help him pass time during his 3 hour break between classes. We went to Bale for him to eat because he was hungry, while I did some homework. Then we caught the bus to "Coffee or Tea" and I got my hazelnut milk tea with grass jelly. Haven't been there since last semester.
We stayed there chatting for almost an hour before leaving; he caught the bus back to campus, while I caught the bus to Ala Moana. I went to Ala Moana to meet up with my mom and aunt, who were there for lunch and shopping. I helped my mom pick out a gift for my nephew: baby Aiden. I didn't want to risk being late for my doctor's appointment at 2:15pm so I only stayed to shop for half an hour.
On my way to the bus stop, I bumped into Jess M and Tyler while trying to run for the #3 bus. They had just got off the same bus and were heading into Ala Moana for pretzels? It was such a coincidence! So happy to have seen you Jess!
Anyways, I got to my doctor's office kind of early and the wait at the doctors' was a little longer than I expected too >.< , but I got home by ~3:20pm.

Lunch: Roasted duck slices sandwiched in steam buns.
They tasted okay. Maybe it would've been better if I bought it earlier in the morn when it was freshly made.

Agrrhh, i'm so sad that I don't have my camera anymore. There won't be much of any pictures for the next 3 weeks :[
Today was another somewhat exciting Friday.
So after classes, I rushed out to Sinclair Circle because my driving instructor was already there waiting for me. He thought I finished class at 12pm, when I actually finish at 12:30pm, so my phone kept vibrating in class, but good thing it was a very soft vibration sound.
So I drove out to Dillingham for lessons and on the way back to UH campus, I suddenly rubbed my eye while driving on King St. Shortly after I rubbed my eye, I realized that my vision seemed to be imbalanced. So at a stoplight, I covered my left eye and found that my right eye vision was a complete blur. Then I freaked out and tried to figure out what was wrong. I even looked down on my shirt to see if my contact had popped out, but there was nothing. After freaking out for a brief 10 seconds or so, I got used to the imbalanced vision and drove on like there was nothing wrong, being extra careful. After getting out of the car at Sinclair Circle, I sat down on the bench and whipped out my compact mirror to check out what went wrong xD
After searching my eye for a few seconds, I had found my contact tucked in the upper right corner of my eye, so I slid it back to where it was supposed to be. Then it was all good from there. Pretty freaky huh?
And yes, I know it was dangerous and that something really bad could've happened, but I was too scared to say anything, so I pretended nothing was wrong. I promise that I won't do that again! And if the same thing ever happens again, I won't keep driving dangerously like I did today. I will pull over and stop the car or something; Promise~
So after I re-positioned my contact, I went to Campus Center Cafe to grab lunch and saw most of the guys there. Kevin sat with me and we chatted while waiting for Kelly & Jess O. to arrive. After the guys went down to play pool in the game room, us girls went exploring around the art museums and saw some really interesting and cool stuff. Now this is why I'm sad; I didn't have my camera to take pictures.
Then we all got Vanilla Italian Sodas from the little booth next to the art building. We then went back to the game room to sit, talk, and drink our sodas :3 until I had to leave..

Hey guys! It's the first day of February~
Today I actually paid attention in Macroeconomics, opposed to always doing something else that results in not paying attention to the lecture.
I almost zoned out during Chinese, and I did zone out during Hawaiian Studies for a few powerpoint slides.. xD
Anyways, after classes ended, Kevin, Reynold and I caught the shuttle bus down to Sinclair Circle to meet up with Kelly. We thought Jess O. was going to be there too, but we think she slept in??
So then we walked to Yogurtland and got some frozen yogurt (except for Kevin). It really made my day that we went to Yogurtland because, I remember that yesterday I was telling Reynold and Kelly that I wanted to eat frozen yogurt on this upcoming Friday if we do decide to hang out that day, but it turned out that we went today!
You guys make me feel so good; my wish came true, but a couple days earlier than I expected :]
After Yogurtland, we went our separate ways; Reynold went back to the dorms, Kevin and I went on the bus, while Kelly went back to Sinclair Library to study.
Sorry Kevin, I didn't notice I hit you on the bus, but I figured it was probably my sleepy bobbing head since I woke up on your shoulder...
